I purchased a new home from Mr. Washington in 2005.  This is my 16th home since college (with the majority being new construction), so I guess you can say I have dealt with every type builder out there.  Unfortunately, most builders are great folks while you are building the house, but once completed, they take on a new personality.  They become difficult to reach when problems occur during the warranty period, and often try to avoid fixing problems until the warranty period ends.  I was pleasantly surprised when Mr. Washington took every call I made to him, regarding minor things which occurred during the warranty period.  Every problem was addressed on the day I called and surprisingly he would follow up with me, to insure the sub had handled the problem.  It has been a real pleasure dealing with him and I would highly recommend him, if you are considering buying or building a new home.  He is a highly dedicated individual who goes out of his way to insure things are done correctly.  I will certainly use him again.
